The UK to NZ Transfer Process

The transfer process is generally slow (UK pension providers are notoriously poor in this area). That is where we come in. We deal with the pension providers on a regular basis and therefore know which buttons to push to ensure that the process is made as efficient as possible. The whole procedure is extremely paper intensive which is part of the UK legislation. Therefore, it is strongly advisable that you allow a professional to take care of it for you. Not only will this ensure a more timely transfer, but also ensure that the forms are completed correctly the first time round. Getting it right the first time is by far the most cost effective and stress free way.

The process will start with checking your eligibility to transfer your pension. It is essential you confirm the following checklist that you:

  • Are eligible to stay permanently in NZ
  • Are working (employed or self-employed)
  • Have no intention to return to live or work in the UK
  • Complete the paperwork required by your pension provider(s)

The above paperwork is then sent to your selected NZ Superannuation provider who will add their confirmation of NZ status and agreement to accept the transfer, and then send it all to the UK provider(s).

Once all the paper work has been received and validated, it will be a case of waiting until the transfer funds are received in NZ. As the key player in facilitating your UK Pension transfer, we actively follow this process up to ensure that there are no delays. You, our valued Client can sit back with the peace of mind that the whole process is being taken care of.
